DESCRIPTION:
The proposed design for the Republic of Turkey’s Chancellery Building in Berlin explores and seeks to address the dialectics of mass/ void, inside/ outside, private/ public, transparency/ solidity with the intention to create a contextually suitable and welcoming building.
The composition consists of a ‘U’ shaped block which encloses an internal courtyard and intersects an oval structure which accommodates a public gallery, conference and protocol reception rooms. The proposed design employs passive solar design and other green building principles to minimize its impact on the environment.
